Jeanne Potter has created acrylic paintings of various textures which resemble ancient frescoes and aged wall fragments with heavily distressed surfaces. Botanicals, henna tattoo designs, and Eastern motifs are new themes.

Jeanne uses acrylic mediums to achieve crackle effects and molding paste to add texture and build up layers of color. Fluid acrylics allow her to achieve watercolor effects. Metallic iridescent and interference paints give a wonderful glow.

This painting has so many layers and evolved over several months.  Using a stencil and overhead projector (the old fashioned way) I traced the stencil outline onto the painting.  I really love this technique and plan to use it again.
